I got my first guitar in eighth grade. I’ve always been able to play a few chords; fumble my way through a halting rendition of “Kum bah Yah” ; But I’ve never been an accomplished player.

When I moved to the Walla Walla Valley I became friends with an accomplished player named Greg. Initially I thought being around Greg would motivate me to play better; but it had the opposite effect. Motto: Keeping our eyes on Jesus
The Eastgate Church is proud to bring you a fun family activity this spring called a Kids Marathon. In this marathon, the 26 miles is divided into 9 different runs of just under 3 miles each. This works well for a several different reasons.
    1. It gives the kids a way to meet a marathon goal without risk of injury.

  • The Big Game

By Cary Fry on Feb 3, 2013

Just finished watching the Super Bowl with my family and several friends. We had fun. There was a lot of good food at least. The truth is I was not too interested in the game. It turned out to be close making it fun to watch in some ways but here is the problem, I never picked a team to support.

If I did have a team to root for it would have been Seattle just because they are the closest team to where I live and they actually played like they could have competed in the Super Bowl this year. Seattle, of course, didn’t make it into the big game.
